Our Foundation
Philosophy & methodology
Every certification in the Mayine ecosystem is built on one conviction: that effective youth development begins with identity. When a young person knows who they are, everything else becomes possible. Our practitioners are trained to hold that truth — and to coach from it.
The Five Pillars
01 - Emotional Intelligence
Understanding and working with the emotional world of young people — not around it.
02 - Intellectual Growth
Unlocking academic confidence, learning identity, and cognitive ownership.
03 - Indigenous Identity & Cultural Grounding
Rooting young people in who they are and where they come from — as an active coaching resource.
04 - Family Dynamics
Understanding the family as the first coaching environment — not a variable to manage.
05 - Self-Leadership Excellence
Building the capacity to lead oneself before leading others — the foundation of all growth.
-
Every practitioner who enters the Mayine ecosystem begins with the CIAT™ — regardless of which specialisation they intend to pursue. This is not gatekeeping. It is a developmental sequence.
You cannot effectively coach parents without first understanding teenagers. You cannot coach young adults without having held the space for who they were as young people. The CIAT™ is the root from which all specialisation grows.
Specialisations in young adult coaching (CIAC™) and parent coaching (CIAP™) open only after CIAT™ is complete. This sequence is non-negotiable and by design.
-
All certifications are delivered through a hybrid model — combining bi-weekly online sessions with in-person weekend retreats and one-day intensives. The full programme structure and schedule is communicated to candidates upon acceptance.
Certification Pathways
Three pathways. One standard.
Each certification is a professional qualification that equips practitioners with a complete coaching system — tools, methodology, supervision, and the business framework to build a sustainable practice.
Prerequisite — Entry for all
CIAT™

Clinical Track
For registered professionals
A separate, advanced track for SACSSP and HPCSA-registered practitioners who want to integrate the Teencoaching™ methodology into clinical and mental health practice.
AITPPM™ — Advanced Indigenous Teencoaching™ Practice for Professionals in Mental Health
Clinical track · SACSSP / HPCSA registered practitioners · From R72,000
The AITPPM™ is not a coaching certification — it is a clinical integration programme. It equips social workers, psychologists, counsellors, and other registered mental health professionals with the Nomveliso Mbanga Teencoaching™ methodology as a structured framework to use within their existing clinical scope of practice.
Practitioners in this track do not replace their clinical training — they deepen it. The AITPPM™ adds an indigenous-rooted, structured coaching layer to clinical work with teenagers and families, creating practitioners who can hold both the therapeutic and the developmental space simultaneously.
The CIAT™ prerequisite does not apply to this track. Entry requirements, programme structure, and pricing are communicated directly to applicants.
