Hey, I'm Nomveliso.
I know you might be thinking: here's another adult who's going to tell me what to do. Fair. So before we meet, here's who I actually am.
Why I do this
I started working with young people more than 30 years ago, through theatre, sport and drama in my community. I've never stopped.
Since then I've coached teenagers in townships, government schools and private schools. Different backgrounds, different marks, different dreams. But a lot of the same questions: Am I good enough? Why can't I just get it right? Does anyone actually get me?
I became the person I wished I had.
What I've learned from thousands of teens
When someone says they want "better marks," it's usually not really about the marks. It's about confidence. About being scared of failing, or of looking like you're not smart enough.
And you are not "average." Your results show your habits right now, not who you are. Habits can change.
The teens who grow the most aren't the ones with the highest marks. They're the ones who decide this journey is theirs, not their parents', not their teachers'.
What working with me is like
- No judgement. You can be honest about what's actually going on. I've heard it before, and I'm not here to make you feel bad.
- You're in charge of your journey.I won't make decisions for you. I'll help you work out what you want, and how to get there.
- What you share stays with us.Your parent or guardian knows we're working together, but what we talk about stays between us, unless you're at risk of harm.
- It's about more than school.Who you are, where you come from, your friends, your family, your future. It all connects.
